“I shall return: The influence of firm framing and exit attributions on investor reactions to market re-entry decisions.”

Dr Zachary plans to present some of his research examining investor reactions to market re-entry – i.e., the decision by a firm to return to a market it previously exited. A number of members from the CFA Society participated in part of the study, and this presentation is an update on the findings. The title of the paper is “I shall return: The influence of firm framing and exit attributions on investor reactions to market re-entry decisions.”

Miles A. Zachary, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of management in the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University.

His research broadly examines the social and cognitive aspects of organizations that affect strategic behavior, stakeholder relationships, and performance. Specifically, he is interested in how firms and stakeholders communicate with each other and how such communications affect independent and relational outcomes.

His research has been published in a variety of outlets, including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Family Business Review, and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, among others.
